Samarium oxide production method
The rare earth chloride solution obtained from monazite or mixed rare earth ore is extracted by extraction method, and extracted with the P2O4-kerosene-HCl-RCl system. HCl is used for back extraction of heavy rare earths. After the heavy rare earth samarium-gadolinium enrichment obtained by grouping is reduced by zinc powder, europium is extracted by alkalinity method, the mixed rare earth grouping method is used to separate samarium and gadolinium. After dissolution, precipitation with oxalic acid, separation, drying, and burning, samarium oxide is prepared.

It can be used as an additive for luminescent glass that absorbs infrared light, as a coating for photosensitive materials, as well as for manufacturing samarium permanent magnet materials and metal samarium. Monazite or mixed rare earth chloride solution ore is obtained by refining, steam stripping, zinc powder reduction, oxalic acid precipitation, separation, and combustion.
